This 2-day trip covers all the essential sites on Putuo Mountain, from beautiful ancient temples, stunning scenery to golden windswept beaches. A private comfortable transport between Hangzhou and Putuo Mountain is included.
In the morning, your friendly guide and driver will pick up you at your Hangzhou hotel. Hop onto a private, air-conditioned vehicle and sit back and enjoy a comfortable ride from Hangzhou to Zhujiajian Pier where you will embark on a ferry to Putuoshan Island.
Start your tour with a visit to the giant Guanyin Statue (Nanhai Guanyin Statue). It is a landmark on Putuoshan Mountain. You will be amazed when you see this 33-meter-high (108 feet) tall statue which is made of copper.
Continue to visit the Unwilling-to-go (Bukenqu) Guanyin Monastery after you walk through the famous Purple Bamboo Forest.
Then take a shuttle bus to Puji Temple, which is the largest and oldest temple in Mount Putuo. Its history can be traced back to 1200 years. There are over 600 halls and rooms in this temple.
In the evening, walk leisurely along the Baibusha (100 paces) beach.
After breakfast, continue your Putuoshan tour to visit Fayu Temple. It is a lovely bright temple with superb statues. The temple is filled with brightly colored halls and the smell of burning joss sticks. You can walk around the compound and marvel at the architecture of the temple.
Afterward take a cable car up to Huiji Temple which is located on the top of Mount Putuo. If your time and energy permit, you can hike up there, taking about 1.5 hours. Enjoy a beautiful bird’s eye view of the island.
Finally, take a shuttle bus back to the pier to catch a ferry to Zhujiajian where your driver will wait for you and transfer you back to Hangzhou.
